Head to head

InteleTravel vs Not Just Travel

This is the cheap door against the expensive one. InteleTravel costs £142 setup and £32/mo; Not Just Travel sells franchise packages at Lite from £995–£2,995; Elite £14,995+VAT. Both will take someone with no experience at all.

In short: InteleTravel suits someone who wants to start this month, spend very little and see what happens. Not Just Travel suits someone who wants a structured launch, a consumer-facing brand and hands-on training, and can fund it up front.

The two models

InteleTravel is a commission-split host: you sell under its licences and keep 70%, 80% above threshold. Not Just Travel is a franchise: you buy a package, trade as Not Just Travel to customers, and keep up to 85%. The same company recruits under the name The Travel Franchise, which is why you will see both names attached to identical terms. If the vocabulary is unfamiliar, start with the three models explained.

The cost gap is the story

Our records put InteleTravel at £142 setup plus £32/mo, and Not Just Travel at Lite from £995–£2,995; Elite £14,995+VAT plus from £99/mo. At the top of the Not Just Travel range that is a difference of several thousand pounds before you have sold anything.

The refund mechanism is the counterweight: “Money-Back Challenge”: the full franchise fee is refunded if a commission target is hit within 12 months. Ask for the target in writing, in pounds of commission rather than turnover, and ask how many franchisees reached it last year. The fees guide shows how to turn both of these into a first-year cost you can actually compare.

What you keep

InteleTravel: 70%, 80% above threshold. Not Just Travel: up to 85% — a ceiling rather than a starting rate. On a £3,000 package holiday paying 10% supplier commission, the gap between 70% and 85% is £45 a booking, which tells you how many bookings it takes to work off the difference in entry cost.

Protection

InteleTravel: ABTA membership P7384 is recorded, with this note — ABTA membership confirmed on the official ABTA member search: InteleTravel UK Ltd, head office Canary Wharf, ABTA numbers P7384 and Y6792. ATOL via suppliers only: bookings are ATOL-protected by the supplier or operator, not under an ATOL licence held in InteleTravel’s own name.

Not Just Travel: The official ABTA member search lists Not Just Travel with its own ABTA membership, K9413 (a “Not Just Travel - Jetset” listing also appears under P8743) — a stronger position than the “as part of Hays” description in TG#6. ATOL cover is described as held through the Hays partnership; no ATOL in the company’s own name was confirmed.

Both arrangements lean on somebody else for part of the cover: one on suppliers, one on a partnership. That is common and not in itself a problem, but it changes who the customer is contracting with. See ABTA, ATOL and trust accounts for what each layer does, and ask each company which licence number appears on a booking confirmation.

How the networks grow

InteleTravel records 44,000 UK; 180,000 worldwide and recruits through PlanNet Marketing, a separate sales organisation in which agents can earn from introducing other agents. Not Just Travel records 550+ (TG#6); 900+ reported in 2021 and sells franchise packages directly. Those are two different growth engines, and they produce two very different kinds of network. Our guide to multi-level recruitment in travel explains the structure factually, including what it does not imply.

The honest differences

They are not competing for the same person. One is a low-cost way to try selling travel alongside a job; the other is a funded business launch. Comparing their headline splits without that context is misleading.

Both sets of figures need confirming. The InteleTravel fees come from a third-party guide because the company gates its own pricing; the Not Just Travel figures span several packages and two sources. Our records for InteleTravel and Not Just Travel show which source supplied which field.

Headcount does not mean like for like. A network of tens of thousands and one of a few hundred are counting different things. Neither figure tells you how many people are making a living.

Who each one suits

InteleTravel if the priority is starting cheaply, and you are comfortable with a network that grows by recruitment as well as by selling.

Not Just Travel if you want training, mentoring and a consumer brand, and the entry fee is money you can genuinely afford to commit.
